The project is organized into six Work Units (WUs).
WU1: Establishment and development of analytical methods.
WU2: Study of the composition of special animal feeds with vitamin D and the effect on the physiology of egg laying.
WU3: Pilot production of special animal feeds. Certification of the composition of the animal feeds.
WU4: Pilot use of feed mixtures in laying hens. Comparison of egg yields with conventional feeds. Certification of the vitamin D content of eggs. In vitro and in vivo study of the effect on the physiology of egg laying.
WU5: Feasibility study. The economic parameters of the product and the market prospects will be determined.
WU6: Dissemination of the results. Development of special information and educational material for breeders, scientists in the agri-food sector and for the general public.
